The project

Life on Earth is threatened by human activity. 50% of the biodiversity as been lost in the last 50 years, and scientists talk about a 6th mass extinction. As we are running toward a catastrophy, some women and men act to save wildlife on all continents. These enthusiastic and indispensable initiatives are the beginning of a new hope to reconsolidate with nature : rewilding.

Into the Rewild is a collection of documentary films that explores the notion of rewilding and even beyond. Each film invites the viewer to meet with activists and discover concrete projects allowing nature to come back freely and let us question our relationship with wilderness.

The team

Into the Rewild is a project conceived and presented by Arnaud Hiltzer. After working for four years with photographer and director Yann Arthus-Bertrand at the GoodPlanet Foundation, he founded the production company Hello Emotion in 2015 to produce films in the fields of outdoor activities, adventure and the environment. With Into the Rewild, he wants to personally explore and highlight concrete initiatives that work to bring humans and wilderness closer together.

The Into the Rewild films are brought to life by director and photographer Aurélie Miquel. After studying fine arts, Aurélie travelled the world before becoming Yann Arthus-Bertrand’s first collaborator and co-director of the 7 Billion Others project. Since 2011, Aurélie has been making documentary films and photographs with a sensitive and aesthetic eye on all subjects that celebrate life. Aurélie also serves as secretary of the association.

Médéric has been working with the Emmaüs movement for 12 years and is currently Deputy Director of Emmaus Grand Sud in La Réunion. He was previously responsible for partnerships at the GoodPlanet Foundation and programme coordinator for humanitarian NGOs.

Marie-Hélène is retired, former CEO and founder of the passenger transport company Négoti. She is now active within the Toulouse Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the CEO of West Toulouse and the REUNIR network.

Inès is a French-Chilean glaciologist (PhD). Her research focuses on recent changes in glaciers worldwide and their impact on hydrological systems. She is also a mountain guide, explorer and environmental activist.
