The project

Life on Earth is threatened by human activity. 50% of the biodiversity as been lost in the last 50 years, and scientists talk about a 6th mass extinction. As we are running toward a catastrophy, some women and men act to save wildlife on all continents. These enthusiastic and indispensable initiatives are the beginning of a new hope to reconsolidate with nature : rewilding.

Into the Rewild is a collection of documentary films that explores the notion of rewilding and even beyond. Each film invites the viewer to meet with activists and discover concrete projects allowing nature to come back freely and let us question our relationship with wilderness.

The team

Into the Rewild est un projet imaginé et présenté par Arnaud Hiltzer. Après avoir collaboré pendant quatre ans avec le photographe et réalisateur Yann Arthus-Bertrand au sein de la Fondation GoodPlanet, il fonde la société de production Hello Emotion en 2015, pour produire des films dans les domaines de l’outdoor, de l’aventure et de l’environnement. Avec Into the Rewild, il souhaite explorer personnellement et mettre en lumière des initiatives concrètes qui oeuvrent à rapprocher l’humain et la nature sauvage.

Les films de Into the Rewild sont mis en image par la réalisatrice et photographe Aurélie Miquel. Après des études aux Beaux-Arts, Aurélie voyage à travers le monde avant de devenir la première collaboratrice de Yann Arthus-Bertrand et co-réalisatrice du projet 7 milliards d’Autres. Depuis 2011, Aurélie réalise des films documentaires et des photographies avec un œil sensible et esthétique sur tous les sujets qui célèbrent la vie. Aurélie tient également le rôle de secrétaire de l’association.

Médéric has been working with the Emmaüs movement for 12 years and is currently Deputy Director of Emmaus Grand Sud in La Réunion. He was previously responsible for partnerships at the GoodPlanet Foundation and programme coordinator for humanitarian NGOs.

Inès is a French-Chilean glaciologist (PhD). Her research focuses on recent changes in glaciers worldwide and their impact on hydrological systems. She is also a mountain guide, explorer and environmental activist.
